Special Town Board Meeting held Jan. 15, 2008 at 1:00 p.m.Town Hall, Schroon Lake N.Y.
Present:
Town Supervisor: Catherine Moses
Councilpersons: Roger Friedman, Clara Phibbs, Mark Whitney
Town Attorney: Cheri Indelicato
Town Clerk: Patricia Savarie
Present: Mike Marnell and Sean Baker
The meeting was called to order at 1:10 p.m. by Supervisor Moses. Councilwoman Phibbs moved a resolution to appoint Michael Marnell to the Town Board,
seconded by Councilman Friedman; carried
Councilman Friedman moved a resolution to hold a Public Hearing for Alternate for Zoning
Board of Appeals to be held Feb. 11th at 6:00p.m. seconded by Councilman Marnell; carried
Councilwoman Phibbs and Councilman Friedman moved a resolution to hire Donald Sage as
Provisional Building Inspector III, seconded by Councilman Whitney for discussion, carried.
Councilman Friedman moved a resolution to have the Safety Improvements done at the airport and to
submit an application for grant money, seconded by Councilman Marnell; carried.
Councilwoman Phibbs moved a resolution to accept lowest bid of $1,100. for the appraisal on
the Airport Hanger; seconded by Councilman Friedman; carried.
Councilman Marnell moved to have two bills on the Sewer Project paid; seconded by
Councilman Friedman, carried.
Supervisor Moses informed the board that David Clark had gone a head and found a truck for
$36,000. under State Contract and that he had been budgeted for $38,000 in the 2008 budget.
Councilman Marnell moved a resolution to hold a Public Hearing to Amend the Dog
Ordinance on Feb. 11th at 6:30 seconded by Councilwoman Phibbs; carried.
Councilman Friedman moved a resolution proposing a moratorium on the purchase of land in the
Adirondacks by the state of N.Y. at least until the issue of payment of taxes on forest preserve
land is resolved in favor of the residents of the Adirondacks this resolution was unanimously
carried.
Councilwoman Phibbs made a motion to adjourn at 1:55 p.m. seconded by Councilman Marnell,
carried.
