Budget Public Hearing November 6, 2008 at 6:00 P.M. held at the Town Hall in Schroon Lake N.Y. Present: Town Supervisor: Cathy Moses Councilpersons: Roger Friedman, Mike Marnell, Clara Phibbs and Mark Whitney Highway Superintendent: Dana Shaughnessy Town Clerk: Patricia Savarie Also Present: See attached The meeting was called to order at 6:02 P.M. with the Pledge to the Flag. Councilman Marnell moved to dispense with the reading of the Public Hearing Notice, seconded by Councilman Friedman; carried. Supervisor Moses stated that she was happy to say the total budget went down 4.7%. Sewer Rates will be going from $147.50 a unit to $166.00 a unit per quarter. Supervisor Moses asked Laurie Bruce if she had an idea of what the hours were for Dog Control and she stated that she and Mark Lebel will keep track of their hours and the Board will look at them in 6 months to see if they need to increase the Dog Control Budget. Public Participation Howard Lashway had many questions about the Budget. Howard had concerns over the Golf Course and how much it is costing the taxpayers. Supervisor Moses stated that they are looking at ways to increase revenues at the Golf Course and make it more profitable. Supervisor Moses declared the Public Hearing closed at 6:32 P.M. |
