Town Board Meeting held July 10, 2006, at 7:00 p.m. at the Town Hall, Schroon Lake, New York

Present:           

Supervisor:             Catherine L. Moses

Councilmen:            Roger Friedman, Donald Sage, Sharron Tyrrell, Clara Phibbs

Hwy. Super.:             Michael Marnell

Town Clerk:             Janice Tyrrell

    When the meeting was called to order Supervisor Moses stated that the wastewater treatment plant

 

project is about 14-18 days ahead of schedule.

 

     Cathy also stated that until the Scaroon Manor is officially opened, it is open to the public free of

 

charge.

 

    Cathy congratulated Lenchen Marnell who applied for and has received a grant in the amount of $2,600

 

for the food pantry.

 

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

 

     Laurie Bruce asked what the hours at Scaroon Manor were? Cathy stated she was not sure, but thought

 

9AM until approximately 9:00 or 10:00 PM.

 

     Roger stated that Ann Breen Metcalf will be doing a talk at Scaroon Manor on July26, 2006.

 

     Roger moved a resolution to approve minutes of June 19^th meeting as amended, second by Don;

 

carried.

 

     Don moved a resolution to approve minutes of June 26^th meeting, second by Clara; carried.

 

     Clara moved a resolution approving bills as audited including one received today, second by Roger; carried.

 

     Board has decided to table voting machine issue for more information.

 

    Planning Board meeting will be rescheduled for 6PM on the 18^th.

 

     The Town Board unanimously accepted Jessica Bottlebushes resignation from the Library with regret.

 

    Ed Williford stated that the family has purchased two benches in the park and they have not been permanently fixed, will that be addressed?

 

     The Board has decided they will pour concrete slabs for all benches to be fixed in the park.

   

     Roger stated that Joan Lawless is heading up the street dance event this year, the date is September 2^nd

and believe Bobby- dick and sundowners will be the band.

 

     Roger asked if grant for milfoil is only use for harvest or can be used for other things?

Cathy is to look into the matter.

 

     Don stated that the VETs are having a coin drop this weekend July 15^th.

 

     Don moved a resolution to go into executive session 8:00 Pm, second by Roger; carried.

 

    Roger moved a resolution to come out of executive session at 8:32 PM, second by Don; carried.

 

     Sharron moved a resolution to adjourn meeting at 8:35 Pm, second by Don ; carried.
